EA Announces Asiasoft Corporation Public Company Limited as Operating Partner for Raycity and TAAN
27th August 2009, Thailand – Electronics Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) and Asiasoft Corporation Public Company Limited announced today an agreement for Asiasoft Corporation Public Company Limited to launch and operate Raycity™ in Singapore and Malaysia and TAAN™ in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The games will be publish under Playpark.com. Both titles are developed by EA’s J2M studio in Seoul, Korea. The announcement was made today during a press conference held at Blu-O Bowling Alley, Siam Paragon.
Working closely with EA’s development and publishing teams, Asiasoft will provide marketing, community management, technical support, and customer service support for both titles.
Raycity and TAAN are both free-to-play, PC multiplayer online games that will appeal greatly to the Asian gaming communities. In Raycity, gamers race through the streets of Seoul to complete a wide variety of missions. Players can unlock new cars and city areas, as well as upgrade and customize their cars with an extensive range of in-game items like car kits, rims and paint schemes, among many others. Singapore and Malaysia will join Korea, China, Hong Kong. Taiwan and Thailand as countries where Asian gamers can enjoy this quick-to-the fun racing game.
TAAN is a casual, turn-based action shooting game. Gamers can choose from an array of customizable characters and weapon types. Teaming up with friends, they can aim and shoot at the opposing players by controlling the angle and distance of their shots. With other fun features like “Power-Ups” and a “Ghost Mode”, TAAN is an enticing and fun to play game that will appeal to a wide gamut of users. TAAN is currently available in Korea, and recently went commercial in Vietnam.
